We cycled out to Branston to see Branston, All Saints Church, where Sarah Ann DAY (1832-1923) was baptised, and The Old Rectory, surely the subject of the sampler by Sarah’s sister, Anne DAY (1839-).

Then on to Washingborough, St John’s Church where William DAY (1806-1878), Margaret Derry’s great grandfather, married Sarah Atkinson in 1831.
