I bought a new telescope
I bought a new telescope. I hope it might improve on my views of Jupiter and Saturn, it’s a SkyWatcher SkyMax-150 Maksutov-Cassegrain telscope which has bigger focal length (1800mm cf 1000mm) but smaller aperture (150mm cf 200mm) than my big Newtonian, SkyWatcher Explorer 200P. It uses the same EQ5 equatorial mount though, so polar alignment and sidereal tracking is the same as before.
Summer’s not a good time of course for star gazing in Scotland, so I’m looking forward to some darker earlier nights, and Jupiter, in the autumn.
